Angelo Roncalli

Angelo Roncalli (pope privy XXIII) was the 261st pope of the Catholic Church and was the sovereign of Vatican City. He was born in Italy and was the first gear boy born to Giovanni Roncalli. He was the third of thirteen children, born to a family of farmers on November 25 1881 in northern Italy. At the age of twelve he entered the diocesan seminary at Bergamo and was under the influence of progressive leadership of the Italian social movement. Then he went to the seminary at capital of Italy on a scholarship and served for a year as a volunteer in the Italian army, and returned to the seminary to take a doctorate in theology. In 1904 at age 23, Angelo was prescribed a priest. Ten years later he was drafted into The regal Italian Army, serving in the Medial Corps. After Pope Pius XIIs death, he was elected Pope.
