Working Thesis: Although slavery finish many years ago, African American people do suffered discrimination based on racism within U.S. clownish policy, both past and present.
1-The authors intention is to testify her readers that African American history and history of discrimination is interlinking with farming and agriculture. Clearly, the authors information upholds my thesis.
2a-Carmen V. Harris, Ph. D. Associate professor of History at the University of South Carolina and author of the phrase Agriculture and Agricultural Labor reports the conflicts between African American farmers and preponderantly white farm owners within the sharecropping system. Harris states that this system was fraught with decadence (30).
2b- Harris reports in her article Agriculture and Agricultural Labor that though court rulings has made it more difficult for African American farmers to deal with discrimination, African American farmers have protested against the USDA, whose policies have marginalized African American and other small farmers, and they have sought good redress as well (35).

Harris, , states that farming systems that were put into roam seemed to be mutually beneficial to both landowner and farmer, only they really only benefited the landowners.
