Memoir

Ever since I was a microscopical girl, I have been curious ab let on my background. I knew that my mom was a small-town girl from Washington and my dad was an island boy from Samoa, but I cherished to dig deeper into my roots. As a little girl, I would always ask myself, Why am I darker than all the white kids but lighter than the African American kids? Why did girls come up to me and compare the heaviness of their hair to mine? Questions raced rapidly through my head and I was determined to find out the answer to each one. I wanted to gain understanding on the language and gardening of Samoa. In other words, I wanted to find out who I was in the flesh.
As a child, I come back listening to story after story about the state of matter and the batch inside it. I remember my grandfather culmination to town and the way he carried himself and spoke was a little different from everyone else. He had a certain tone to his voice that was soft but confident at the same time. I knew that there was a reason behind all my observations and I was determined to find the answers. Although all the stories were interesting and attention-grabbing, I wanted to experience Samoa for myself.

It was my first day of middle school and I thought I was on top of he creation because I was no longer a student of childlike school. All I could think about was telling people that I was in middle school now. The thought was so exiting and I can still remember the count down pat(p) on my rampart until the special day. It was sometime during the second calendar week of sixth grade and my parents were sitting my sisters and I down for a family meeting.
