It shows that there is hatred in this world that we either manufacture or misinterpret. The movie shows us that understanding other points of view is required. Officer John Ryan and Anthony are two men with equal feelings towards race but opposite reasons why. When we source meet Officer John Ryan, a middle age white man, he is on the phone talking to a health care worker about his ailing initiates health concerns. After not getting what he wanted, he asked for her name and she responded by telling him her name is Shaniqua Johnson. Ryan responds by saying a stereotypical racists resolution Shaniqua, big fucking surprise that is. Most people confide that racism occurs as a result of a persons upbringing. It turns out that his get under ones skin was not racist towards dour people. Ryans father had reasons to be anger at African Americans because of experiences he had with the civil rights movements but believed in the movement. It was Ryan who, in combination with his fathers negative experiences and his own experience as a section of the LAPD, formed his own racism towards blacks.  When we meet Anthony he is walkway out of a restaurant complaining about the negative service he received because he was a black man. He argues with his friend, Peter, about how African Americans are still existence suppressed and stereotyped. They then turn into the stereotype and steal a vehicle from a white couple.
