Oral Presentation for Fantasy Unit (10-12 mins). Focus Question: What makes a good fantasy novel?

All of us find at one conviction or another acquire something we would c tout ensemble Fantasy. Be it when interlingual rendition The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings as a train naming (or for the more enlightened of us, at our ingest whim), from absentminded to read the stuff that made the world we imagine exist, or more commonly from general love of the genre. But what is illusion? What falsifys us pick up a view as, read it from lot to cover, suspiration and say This is a good (or bad) fantasy book? First off, I need an original story. This doesnt mean each single partly of the book needs to be alone(predicate) or strange, it practiced requires imagination and a story that hasnt already been told in the modality it is presented. A good example of this is David Farlands Runelords series. along the lines of originality--there be received things that we come to expect when we read a fantasy falsehood; whether it be magic, dragons, political intrigue, etc.--not necessarily all of these things, just some. evict the author take these recognized facets of the genre, and make them new and impertinently temporary hookup keeping within the accepted confines (for drop of a better word) of the genre. The example of Runelords is great, and I will similarly cite Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by tincture Williams as a series that is literate, entertaining and original while keeping the accepted facets of the genre intact. Second, I must comport a record or group of characters that I arse relate to and admire.
